Eeeeh, Macaroni!

For those of you shaking your heads in disbelief at the level to which I'll stoop for a title, well, sorry.  And for those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about, click here.  Just don't do it while your daughter's watching.  I'd hate for her to think that boy-shorts actually qualify as clothing.

Back to the topic at hand, I thought I would share one of my all-time favorite meals with you: nuggets and macaroni!!!  Yes, I do realize that I was supposed to stop wanting to eat this when I turned thirteen.  I guess I'm a late bloomer.
Instead of insulting your intelligence and telling you how we make this, I'll just tell you our favorite brands.  The directions on the box/bag should suffice.  Update: after counting the calories in this meal, I realized that no one should eat this, ever.  For any reason.  Do so at your own risk.

Great Value Nuggets
Great Value Mac & Cheese
Great Value Ketchup (are you sensing a trend here?)
Mary B's Southern Style Frozen Biscuits (although Pat accidentally got Mary B's Buttermilk Biscuits last time, and they're good too; think Cracker Barrel)

Total cost per meal (for Pat & me together): $2.50
Calories per serving: 960! Ouch, I didn't know that until I added it up for this post. No wonder it tastes so good!
Tastiness factor: 8/10
Health factor: 2/10 - And that's only because I couldn't bear to give it a one, which it probably deserves.  But there's more to life than being healthy.  Right?

Please tell me we aren't the only ones who eat this badly (on occasion).  Do you have any meals that compare?  Do you know three (or more) different dance styles to the Macarena?  My personal fave was always "country".  When you read "Cracker Barrel" did you immediately crave biscuits, grape jelly, and Dr. Pepper?

  1. I still love me some chicken nuggets. Tyson has dinosaur shaped ones and I ate those in college with mac n cheese. Hah. gotta love it. I DO want biscuits from cracker barrel and some tater tots. Next weeks' menu will have something with tater tots and mac n cheese!!

  2. Mmmm, tater tots. Now THERE'S an idea! I like the way you think!

  3. Okay, so I had to do the "click here" to figure out what you were getting at and then clued in immediately and started laughing. After watching a bit and bopping around some, I came back to your post and read the part not to do this while your little girl is around. Let's just say, I am glad I read this right before picking up Hannah. We already have issues we deal with like wanting to slide straps off the shoulder. Yikes, she's only 6. Just wait, Madison will be there before you know it. Okay, now that I have rambled on so, I am about to be late to pick up said girl. Got to go. Keep the blogs coming!!! :)

  4. Oops! I should have put the warning before the link...I'm glad she wasn't there! Don't tell me that-she's a baby, and she's always going to be just as innocent as she is now. Right?

  5. In my opinion, Mary B's buttermilk frozen biscuits are the best "homemade" biscuits you can buy. I bet even Cracker Barrel uses a version of them. Chicken nuggets and mac & cheese is the default menu for my grandbabies when the rest of us are eating something they won't eat. Works for them, works for us! I like the table, by the way. I guess I need to shop on Craigs List! Auntie V

  6. :) You just confirmed it as a kid's meal. But I'm okay with that; maybe eating it will keep us young (or at least young at heart)!

  7. Or maybe a premature heart attack. It could go either way.
