Tell Me All About It...
Our poor Madison is sick for the first time. I took her to the doctor yesterday, and she has a cold. We were told to use saline and the bulb syringe every three hours along with a humidifier to help her get better. She'll probably be sick from 7-14 days.
The pediatrician told me to expect for her to be very fussy and difficult while she is sick. I wish! Instead, she's breaking my heart with her sweet patience. Every once in a while, she'll "tell" me how bad it is, but not by screaming or crying. Here, I'll let you see what I'm talking about:
If that doesn't make you want to cry, I don't know what will.
Gotta run...my baby has something to tell me. :(

Poor thing. She takes like a big girl. The bulb syringe works wonders. It's called the "snot sucker" at our house. I hope she feels better soon.

oh my goodness she is adorable! I hate when they are sick. It makes a mama's heart break! Hope she is all better soon!
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies. She has been sleeping better today than she had the last couple of days. I don't know if she's starting to feel better, or just so tired she can't help it.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww...how pitiful! Keep up the TLC. Tell her Aunt Vira hopes she gets better real soon.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the video even though she is sick. She is precious. Oh, I detest using the bulb, but it does work. I used the saline with Luke, but couldn't bring myself to do it with Lila. It just made Luke scream. Does Madison protest when you use the bulb? Lila didn't at first, but now she knows what it is and is a squirmer. But, if you know the right way to hold her it is not hard to do. I just wish there was something we could give them to help alleviate some of the miserable cold symptoms.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Auntie Vi- I will tell her.
ReplyDeleteOh Christie, you should see her when I try to use the saline. It's pretty rough! I hadn't used it yet when I wrote the post, or I would have qualified the no screaming/crying bit. The saline keeps her quite upset for at least five minutes every time. But she breathes so much better afterwards!
I'm not sure we ever used saline. Do you squirt it up their nose? Poor baby.

Becky- yes, you do, and it's awful. If she wasn't breathing so much easier afterwards, I would never do it again!
ReplyDeletePoor little Madi! and poor Mommy (and poor Daddy too). It's so hard when a tiny one is sick. She does seem to be able to express her feelings about it even if she can't talk full English yet. Keep up the good work. Praying that it will be a shorter rather than longer recovery. Love to all, Grandma
ReplyDeleteThanks, Grandma- we are grateful for your prayers. I hope we get to bring her to see you soon! Once she's better, we'll try to set up a date that works for you. She hasn't met Misty yet!
